Our Co-Director, Dr Cristina Stefan, attended the three-day conference on "Preventing mass violence and atrocities" at Wilton Park, between 29-31 October 2018. Wilton Park, in partnership with Stanley Foundation and Protection Approaches, convened this international conference to identify steps that countries might take to better present mass violence and atrocities in a coordinated and systematised way. The goal was to do so by utilising the knowledge and capacity of local, national and international stakeholders, which attended the Wilton Park event from across the globe. This follows the September 2018 report of the UK Foreign Affairs Committee, 'Global Britain: The Responsibility to protect and Humanitarian Intervention', which calls for a 'cross-Government mass atrocity strategy that can help identify areas of high risk at an early age.'
