On 21 February 2018, Dr Eglantine Staunton attended a meeting organised by the European External Action Service to discuss with Ivan Simonovic – Assistant Secretary-General and Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on the Responsibility to Protect – and senior EU policy makers how the European Union and the United Nations could strengthen the operationalization of the responsibility to protect.
