ECR2P is delighted to announce Dr Adrian Gallagher as Co-Director

Date

The ECR2P is delighted to welcome Dr Adrian Gallagher as our new Co-Director to work alongside our existing Co-Director, Dr Cristina Stefan. Dr Adrian Gallagher made the following comments in discussing his appointment:

"I am delighted to have taken over from Professor Jason Ralph as the Co-Director of the European Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and very much look forward to working alongside Dr Cristina Stefan. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jason for his leadership. Of course, he remains part of the Centre and we all look forward to working with him on collaborative projects in the future. As it stands, ECR2P has five staff, two post-docs, and six Ph.D students based here at the University of Leeds with research and impact partnerships at the national, regional, and international level. Going forward, it is clear that we live in challenging times with Human Rights Watch declaring ‘atrocities are the new norm’ (December 2018). With this in mind, ECR2P will continue to work at the vanguard of R2P based research, education, and policy dialogue in order to have real world academic, economic, and societal impact. We may never be able to rid the world of mass atrocity crimes but we can certainly do better than we are doing now."
